Okay, having singly shot down everything I have said in a dignified
polite manner (just in keeping with the requested tone you understand
:)) You would be proposing a structure something like the following:

Executive:
President
Vice President
Secretary
Treasurer
General Manager/CEO/General Dogs Body(non-voting employed member)

Non-Executive:
Three Members

Executive positions get three year terms (staggered elections -
President/Vice President one year, Secretary the next and Treasurer the
next) with provision for removal under extreme circumstances
(impeachment etc) whilst non-executive members get one year terms to
allow for greater LA member participation.

Let me know if I've got this wrong.

Lots of good ideas coming in though, nice to see.
