FWIW, I'll second this recommendation (and was going to suggest it until
I saw Craige had mentioned it). Tim has been working on this stuff for
ages and its now battle hardened. Just wish it existed 10 years ago when
I needed it :)

(I wonder if these days some other projects could be used as
replacements for some of their custom components but investigating that
would be an entirely different task)
