Hi All,

As you may have noticed from the council minutes we have finally put
together a range of hosting services that Linux Australia can offer to
LUGs.

This service is mainly aimed at the smaller LUGs who don't have the
resources or funds to host there own infrastructure. All the details
can be found at

http://wiki.linux.org.au/Ctte/LugHostingServices

I've also pasted the details below for your reference.

= LUG Hosting Service =

Some smaller Linux User Groups simply don't have the resources to host their
own website, wiki and mailing lists. To aid the user groups Linux Australia can
provide them with the services listed below.

To have any of the following services set up please email council at linux.org.au
and once approved the request will be passed on to the admin team for
actioning.

== Domain Name ==

A domain name can be provided of the form LUGNAME.linux.org.au for example
cqlug.linux.org.au.

This can be a simple A record or even a full NS delegation to the LUGs own DNS
server

== Website ==

LA can provide a Drupal instance to LUGs. This instance will have modules
supplied and approved by the LA web-team. This website can be at the LUGs own
domain or using an LA provided domain as above.

== Mailing Lists ==

A LUGNAME at linux.org.au list can be provided using the same infrastructure
hosting all other linux.org.au lists.

Cheers,
John
