Greetings Donna et.al.

FYI. From the Linux Australia Council Meeting on Thursday Evening..
----
{*} Facilitating the enthusiasms of Linux User Groups in Australia.

    * Paul Schulz was involved in a discussion lead by Donna Benjamin
with various LUG members to discuss how Linux Australia could
further develop its relationship with Australian Linux User Groups.
Some of the ideas raised included: Public Liability Insurance coverage,
Regional Delegate programme, Software Freedom Day support and
projects such as 'LUG in a Box'. Paul would like to share his observations
of the meeting with the intent of moving forward in areas where
    Linux Australia could assist.

o Paul described the energy and enthusiasm of the meeting and
recommended Linux Australia's support in furthering some of
             the ideas generated.

o Council confirms unanimously that Linux Australia is very interested
in supporting the various Linux User Groups in Australia
in the best
way practical and possible, and Paul will continue to participate
with the aim of bringing concrete proposals for consideration as
             they develop.

Motion: That Linux Australia support a select range of initiatives
identified as valuable candidates from the Australian LUG
discussion.
                + CARRIED in principle.
---
So.. continue to think about some concrete proposals and we'll see what
we (LA Council and LUGS) can do :-)

Regarding PLI and Membership Structure, please be aware that these are
reasonably complex topics. (The Membership structure changes will probably
require a constitutional change).
.. but this is a chance for LUGs to bring up the issues that directly effect
them.

Cheers,
Paul
