Project Name: "monitoring" mailing list

Aim of Project: 
To establish a list of requirements for an enterprise-grade, fully
scalable, extensible FOSS network monitoring software suite;

Conduct a gap analysis to determine which of these requirements are met
by existing FOSS and proprietary software;

Create an architectural design for a program that meets as many of
these requirements as possible and specifies how to avoid making the
same design mistakes as the software researched by the gap analysis;

And finally, develop the programs necessary for the suite, taking
advantage of as much prior art as possible.
