Hi Ben,
We put together a cdrom for the art department at a high school. That
was a bit more generic that just art programs, but we have come across
a lot more programs that are quite nice in that field. The programs
I would suggest looking at are:
* GIMP 2 Photoshop type
* SodiPodi Vector drawing like Illustrator
* Inkscape Simplified interface from SodiPodi
* Autotrace Convert raster to vector diagrams
* ImageMagik For just about anything :)
* Blender3d 3D modelling and animation
* Cinellera Video Editing and Production
* GPhoto2 Digital Camera interface and picture manipulation
