Yes, that's precisely the point: For a potential sponsor, it can be easy to defer to the next financial year if you can rationalise it, particularly when there's something solid to consider. It's a totally different decision making process to an individual paying a very inexpensive registration fee.

Surely as a sponsor one would want to bring forward the many and obvious benefits of sponsoring such a fantastic event? If a sponsor wants to miss out on all those benefits for a year, then isn't that simply them punishing themselves?
