[LC++]I want to start programming sound under linux

Hello all!
  I wnat to start programming sound under linux. Is there anyone who knows
a good tutorial or can on eof you just help me getting started. I first of
all need to know how to access the /dev/dsp-device. It would be a great
help to me, if one just could tell me how to write data from a RAW-file
with a known frequency to /dev/dsp.
