Hello everyone!
*We're figuring out some deliverability issues with the mailing list, so this email is sent personally to the list on behalf of the conference in an effort to keep communication flowing.*
*Important: This week is the last week to submit your talk proposals to PyCon AU 2026!*
*All the information you need to know is at **2026.pycon.org.au/cfp**.*
Even if you don't have a talk this year, we would still warmly appreciate everyones support to amplify our CFP messaging on social media. Doing so helps us to spread the word to your friends, colleagues, peers and across your industry. Python is used on a vast number of sectors and it's a constant challenge to 'get the word out' to everyone.
Additionally:
• Consider your talk proposal for a specialist track: Cybersecurity, Data & AI, DevRel, Education, Platform Engineering and Research Software Engineering. Details at https://2026.pycon.org.au/cfp/specialist-tracks/
• Remember we're looking for talks, workshops AND posters sessions this year! There's an option for everyone to share their experience and ideas at the conference.
• We're offering academic proceedings so you can get published at PyCon AU! Simply opt-in when submitting your proposal. Learn more: https://2026.pycon.org.au/cfp/academic-proceedings/
• Join us online tonight from 6pm AEDT Tuesday 24 March for our last online talk writing workshop! (https://2026.pycon.org.au/cfp/workshops/)
*Financial Assistance*
If travel to Brisbane in August is cost-prohibitive, please consider applying for financial assistance. Our FinAid program will align the first wave of grants to accepted speakers who apply before 29 March AOE, and the program will remain open until all funds are committed/exhausted. More at https://2026.pycon.org.au/attend/financial-assistance.
We can't wait to see everyone in Brisbane in August!
Cheers,
Jack Skinner
*PyCon AU 2026 Conference Director*
