Hi Nicolas,
You don't mention which database you're using, but I know with Oracle
it's best to design the database instance from the ground up to support
NLS (National Language Set(s)). PostgreSQL seems to be the same -
there's several levels at which you can enable and use Unicode, session,
environment or db-wide.
