If this was accidentally (and understandable) software configuration
error, then it can be fixed, right?

I personally could understand that somebody setting up a mail server for
the first time my not understand the implications/social norms of the
settings.

No-reply addresses tend to be somewhat typical these days unfortunately
and do not necessarily mean they don't want feedback. Yes, that is
stupid. But I think common.

Seems fixing the problem - and offering assistance to fix the problem -
might be more useful then pointing fingers.
