[Linux-aus] EO2026 accommodation, expanded schedule, etc

Hi all,
Sorry to come late to the party, but there's been a bit of activity on this thread and behind the scenes lately, so I thought I might as well sum-up and reply to a bunch of threads in one go:
*UC student accommodation:*
This info should be released on the website's Location page <https://2026.everythingopen.au/about/location/> tomorrow. Basically the pricing's variable, depending on how long you want to stay and parking can be included for $5 per night. Conference attendees need to deal directly with the accommodation providers for this and mention that they're attending the conference to get the short-term special rates.
*Parking:*
There's plenty of parking on campus and currently the maximum casual day rate is $20. There's a possibility we can work-out discounted parking, but it's a question for 2026 me.
*BoFs/Miniconfs:*
There won't be any BoFs/mini-confs planned *as part of the conference*, however we're hopeful to be able to make some of the ancillary rooms available for DIY BoF/miniconf forming. All you'll get is a room to do your thing in (no A/v, recordings, broadcast, etc.) Having a Wiki would really help with this. - and on that subject...
*Wiki:*
We don't *yet *have a Wiki and my I.T. slaves have expressed some valid concerns about their repeated beatings on the subject (i.e. there are some practicality issues with maintenance, archiving and workload). I think if we're going to have one, it might need to be organised outside the conference itself. I've spent a few seconds searching for an outside commercial provider, but they all seem to funnel you into their "yes, you can do anything with our WP/cPanel service" marketing, so I gave up pretty quickly. If anyone has the capability to step-up and organise this, I'd be interested in hearing from you.
*Evening events:*
Like Arjen said, currently we only have the penguin dinner on the 22nd and we're likely to have some sort of "wrap-up" after conference celebration too. Linux Australia are likely to want to run their AGM right after COB on the 21st, too.
*Buses and transport:*
There will also be a bunch of this info on the Location page <https://2026.everythingopen.au/about/location/>tomorrow too. The #2 (train station), #3 (airport) and #4 (Tuggeranong/Woden) express busses all run along the same route between the city centre and Belconnen, stopping at the university campus along the way. However I think 12 minutes is a bit optimistic at the time of day people will need to use them (probably more like 20 minutes). Nevertheless, staying in the city centre and bussing in will probably give you more interesting "out of hours" activities (that's how I'd do it if I didn't live here already).
Thanks for you interest in Everything Open 2026!
M0les.
