My thoughts:
- After looking at the finances (those that are available) there
certainly doesn't seem to be a lot of budget to get paid organisers
involved so the organising team will have to remain volunteers, in order
to run the conference.
- People in our industry don't tend to have that sort of time
- So I see why we could be at this position.
As an unrelated aside (and this is an "I am nosy" question not a "I have
time to run a conference" question):
Is there information provided to bid teams for LA run conferences which
gives guidance from lessons learned in previous years or is each years
team out on their own (possibly with access to the LCA ghosts?)?
thanks,
Karl.
