I suspect the proposed TasLUG subcommittee would be very interested in
such a project, even if just for our own selfish needs.

Currently, we're holding two meetings a month - one in Hobart and one in
Launceston. Co-ordinating streaming between the two meetings without
having the meeting organiser getting overloaded, and having consistent
URLs and methods, etc. is proving to be tricky. If there were some
'standardised' LA setup, whether just protocols involved, backend
platform provided by LA or even some grant $ for provisioning of some
equipment (eg travel cases), I think it would benefit the group greatly.

Thinking a bit further along, it'd be a great for local LUGs to iron out
bugs, etc., before the big conferences come along. Also, each LUG -
whether by adhering to protocols, using the backend or the granted
equipment, may be able to take the kit out into 'the wild' and thus help
spread the FLOSS word amongst groups who may be interested (eg, CC
inclined artists)

Just some random thoughts. But this does sound like a great idea Tim.

Regards,

Pete.
