Replying to myself.

I just joined again, memberdb makes you select male or female, it's not
listed as a required field,
but the interface makes you select one (defaults to male) or the other.

I personally don't feel very strongly about my own gender identification
(my nickname, which was given
to me, I didn't choose it, is a little feminine for a male) , or divulging
it to organisations, but I know many
people do care, and they can be very passionate about it. At the very
least, it should be made optional
to set a gender, defaulting to unanswered and it could even add other
options like both, neither, or whatever.
