[Linux-aus] LUG Meeting on IRC Next Tuesday 26 June

Hi All,

Join us next Tuesday for discussions on Linux User Groups,
the good, the bad, the confusing ... and how to promote / fix / expand them.

Just because it's a LUG doesn't mean it has to be a heavy load!

Topics last month were:
- vaguely about Software Freedom Days, installfests (which seem to be
vanishing ??) and other forms of demo for non-users of Linux
- favourite Live CD (Mint, Fedora, the ubuntu tour (
http://www.ubuntu.com/tour/en/) no reboot needed, and last but not least
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_live_CDs)
          (one suggestion involved no CD at all: for the newbie Ubuntu or
derivative on a usb installed by unetbootin with a good sized live amount)
- TASLUG is going or planning to have a "North & South" meeting

On another note, one of the LCA2013 team members, David Tulloh, has been
contacting lugs around Australia to confirm details and update a central
list.
If you're from a QLD based LUG, and haven't heard from David, can you
please send an email to 'contact at lca2013.linux.org.au' with your lug name,
location and best contact method ( ie - mailing list, google group, etc) so
that we can add you to the spam-mailout sheet.
