Parity is not an issue for me either. Many men and women celebrate their
differences and have very different experiences and expectations. I
think any absolute belief in parity assumes men and women should be the
same rather than have the same opportunities.

Women should have the same opportunities and I support the funding on
that basis.

Another approach is to spend $5000 to get more blokes into primary
school teaching. We might help arrest the decline in male literacy and
improve our tertiary education prospects so in future blokes can get
real jobs instead of playing with computers :-) I don't think my boys
will see a male teacher until upper primary or high school.
