If you email his APH address, it's cataloged and entered as an official 
communication, which generally at least warrant a "gee, thanks" form 
letter. Some politicians delegate this to a senior staff member, in 
which case it can get on the radar. Others, however, delegate it to the 
office intern, in which case you'll get the above form letter :)
