[Linux-aus] Creative Commons mix for linux.conf.au 2008

Hi all,

The conference party has grown from the Toast and Arc Cafe nights run by
the multimedia gang in 2005 and 2006 into the Google Party last year.
Since 2005 I've made one or two mixes at or after those parties, and
last year I mixed exclusively using Creative Commons music and the mix
was therefore released under a Creative Commons license so that anyone
could legally download and distribute it (albeit after LCA had ended).
I really enjoy making these mixes, especially live at a party. I'd like
to do mix it up at this year's party as well, creating one or two live
mixes using fully CC licensed music.

I haven't spoken to the LCA 2008 team about this idea yet - I thought
I'd float the idea on the LA list and count the nods and boos. I'm no
professional DJ, I don't spin vinyl, and I'm not wanting to grandstand
the party. So how would people going to LCA 2008 feel about me mixing
up a set or two, either at the Friday night party or elsewhen, for
distribution at LCA?

Thanks in advance,

Paul
