Hi Jeff,

I don't believe it is.

It seems plain to me that Apple do not wish for a codec where
they are not a member of the patent pool, and that desire excludes
free software codecs.

But given time we will see from Apple's behaviour what their
motivation is...  I would like to be surprised.
