Sure, but the commercial interest here was not to "block" free codecs, but
to limit additional risk. The HTML5 draft policy, which brought together
numerous different perspectives, reflects that.

The frustrating response is noisy, non-practitioning advocates with little
domain knowledge repeating things like "Nokia hate freedom" when they are
also great contributors to FLOSS. [ Luckily, this kind of view only very
rarely leaves the 'slashdot zone'. ;-) ]

Commercial interests do not always coincide with our interests, and we
should be prepared to accept that without flipping out.
