Hello everyone.

At the most recent committee teleconference, after significant
discussion, it was decided that Linux Australia is not comfortable with
granting travel grants at this time. This is a blanket policy decision,
and in no way a reflection on the two applications who have recently
asked for such grants.

The logic behind this decision is that LA believes that there are more
worthy grant opportunities in Australia at the moment, which will
deliver a large direct benefit to the Linux community in this country.

We also did not feel that there was clear support for such a grant type
from the linux-aus mailing list.

The committee is happy to hear feedback on this policy, preferably in
mail to committee at linux.org.au.

Cheers,
Mikal
