[Linux-aus] Laptop recommendations

Hi,

I have a Dell Inspiron 8000 running SuSE 7.2, Win4Lin etc. Very happy 
with it.

PIII-700
192MB RAM
20GB HDD
14.1" LCD (1400x1050)
Internal FDD and CD
FireWire, USB, S-Video, IR etc.

The hi-res screen is what attracted me to this model. 1400x1050 works 
very well with Linux.

I didn't get the internal modem/ethernet because of possible 
difficulties using them under Linux. Instead I use a PCMCIA ne2000 
compatable ethernet card (about $90 at the local computer markets - the 
same price as the Dell internal and much less hassle)

I don't use a modem.
