[Lias] Squid Authentication Against NT Account Database

Does anyone know of a reliable and secure way of ensuring that users who
connect to squid are automatically authenticated using NTLM and there
account details entered in to /var/log/squid/access.log

I am using Winbind to provide automatic NTLM authentication to SAMBA and
would like to maintain one database and hence provide this feature through a
PAM modification for squid if possible.

I have heard of pam_smb and smb_auth but someone noted them as being
insecure
