From general notes; thought I'd complete the record:

=== PLUG ===
Meets monthly on the second Tuesday evening for a talk presented by
whoever can be dragged up to speak. Is generally on Linux or FOSS topics
but widened to techie topics if we're desperate or the topic is cool
(eg. we've had talks on web content delivery and supercomputer tours).
Runs for about 45 minutes.

We generally get about 20-30 people turning up, and do free* pizza
afterwards.

Since starting this about six months ago we've not had to skip a month
due to lack of speaker; generally things work themselves out in the last
week before the seminar.

We're recording each talk but have yet to come up with an easy way to
transcode the DV into the various formats.

*as in speech, ie. gold coin donation. The donations almost always
exactly equal the cost of the pizza; there's probably a thesis there or
something.
