membership based organisations lose sight of  the membership in the 
struggle to remain viable and relevant however its a road straight to 
hell for all concerned not just the leadership  if members do not remain 
committed to the organisations they chose to join and with  that 
commitment comes vigilance.  CF AUDA, CPA Australia to name but two.
