About Optiver
Optiver is a proprietary global market maker, trading on all major financial
markets around the world, putting only its own capital at risk. Making
markets in financial products is Optiver's core business.
We take our time finding great people. Once we've found them, we don't want
to lose them, so we offer lots of benefits, like terrific training and career
development programs, casual attire, extended annual leave benefits, paid
maternity and paternity leave, access to an employee assistance program, and
on-site flu vaccinations. Our people look forward to breakfast and lunch
every day prepared by our onsite chef, onsite barista, a weekly massage, free
gym membership, a games room, and sponsored sporting teams. We also have
monthly and quarterly team events. This is one of the reasons Optiver has
been voted in the top two spots on the BRW Best Places to Work in the last
two years in a row!
About the role

trusted advisor to our traders on operational decisions. You excel in taking
real business problems and solving them with cutting edge technology.

You're a solution-oriented engineer who wants to have a direct impact on the
business. You want to work with systems end-to-end and you don't shy away
from intricate low level details. You love to problem solve, troubleshoot and
get your hands dirty with technology. You're customer-focused, communicate
strongly and enjoy engaging others face-to-face. A critical thinker when it
comes to troubleshooting and analysis, you recognise the smallest of details
and patterns, leave no stone unturned, ask all the right questions and are
always looking to improve how things work.
