DUG runs a 24/365 production service that requires maximum uptime and optimal  
system performance.  The global team are responsible for the operation of 12  
compute centres around the world, including the world’s largest  
privately-owned compute cluster, here in Perth.

The successful candidate will play a major role in both day-to-day  
problem-solving and project-based work, including:

•	Managing the planning, installation, and maintenance of general ITC and  
HPC infrastructure, including:
         o	Linux compute and storage clusters
         o	Internal networks
         o	Telecommunication systems
         o	Global inter-office networks
         o	Cloud (and other) non-production systems (email, messaging, etc.)
•	Manage a global 24/365 IT support team
         o	Manage the IT ticket system
         o	Prioritise work in consultation with key stake holders
         o	Provide direction to the global team
         o	Manage the on-call roster for weekend/public-holiday support
•	Provide regular reports on system performance, utilisation, and uptime
•	Organise major system deployments worldwide
•	Keeping management informed and recommending corrective actions
         o	Identifying potential improvements in hardware, software, and  
procedures
•	Acting as a mentor to junior IT staff
•	Serving in the support escalation team, for critical off-hours issues  
that the on-call team are unable to resolve on their own
•	Complying with the Company’s HSE Policy, and helping to ensure that the  
Company's safety responsibilities are fulfilled
•	Additional duties as required
