We have a role in Melbourne for a Linux Senior Systems Administrator / Network Engineer who will have a pivotal position in this organisation's core business and hence will be highly rewarded. 

Our client requires a sharp, savvy individual who will not only be technically accomplished but have a strong sense of the impact his/her decisions will make on the business, be strongly competent in dealing with people within the organisation and out, be aware of trends, technologies and security issues that can impact on their company and clientele and thrive in an energetic innovative environment.

In this role you will be fully accountable for a network of 25 high capacity, high volume Linux based email servers which are distributed in 8 data centres in Australia and the U.S. You will have responsibility for all aspects of the network and web servers and you will need to have significant experience in monitoring concepts and tools.

You'll need exceptionally strong skills in the following areas:

* Linux, MySQL database, email servers, TCP/IP networking, servers and hardware
* First class Linux systems administration experience 
* Extensive knowledge of open source email servers 
* Scripting - shell, Perl 
* Knowledge of network security 
* Knowledge of network protocols 
* Dealing with ISP's or data centres 
* Strong communication and personal skills
* Knowledge of hardware
* Knowledge of switches and routers 
* Ability to accurately execute Admin processes and checks
