Systems Administrator, Full Time

THe large company I work for is looking for a midlevel to senior linux sysadmin to help with the 200+ RHEL boxes we have now and the 150 or so new ones we will be installing this year. We need someone who can demonstrate good troubleshooting skills, has scripting in perl or shell, knows their way around tcpdump and networks, can tweak modules.conf/modprobe.conf, and has been supporting linux machines at a much higher level than "installed a couple from CD and edited a config file". Fibre channel and Legato Networker experience highly regarded.

You will also be expected to help with the other unixes - Tru64, Solaris, AIX, HPUX. If you haven't had experience with any of them, you'll need to convince us you can learn quickly.

The job is reasonably well paid ($70k-$90k), involves some rostered early and late work in a 38 hour week, rostered and paid on-call, paid overtime, no user support, very little application support.
Contact: In the first instance email to zebeej at gmail.com telling me why you believe you are a high level linux admin. Some stories of troubleshooting and difficult support problems you have solved will help a lot. Don't just send a resume, I have to sell you to
Applications close: 20th October 2006
