Infrastructure Administrator, Full Time

Small Camberwell based niche software development company is looking for a system administrator to maintain internal and client systems.

We develop using open-source technologies, and you will have understanding of system administration concepts, and willingness to learn. You will work closely with our senior administrator in a small, easy-going team.

Prerequisites:
Excellent two-way communication skills
SMTP, DNS,
RDBMS
internet networking
Unix/Linux knowledge
LAN level hardware support/setup
Australian citizen or permanent resident

Role Scope:
Linux, Solaris, BSD setup, administration (user management, package management, backups, support,  etc)
Distros include: Red Hat, Debian, Gentoo, Fedora
Windows 2003 server admin (very light)
Email admin (Postfix, Exim, Sendmail)
Database admin (DBA) - Oracle, Postgres
Internal office hardware support and setup
Maintain development, test, staging environments
Scripting

The job entails internal support for our  developers, managing databases across clients, and participating in implementation projects.

This role would suit someone who has a grounding in the basics (Linux, databases, system admin) and is eager to learn more. The majority of daily work will be in Linux.
