Network Engineer/System Engine, Contract

A problem-solving and fully versed Linux guru is needed. The role involves the installation of ADSL server equipment and software and network fault diagnosis.

Experience within ISP/Telecommunications industry either as engineer, sys/net administration or technical support roles, but MUST be familiar with Linux inside-out in a Telco environment.

Practical skills will be highly regarded in the following areas:-

-General layer 2 type network configuration
-General layer 3 type network configuration 
-Good knowledge of VPN, Router, Gateway and Firewall configuration in a Linux environment.
-Good knowledge of Open Source software, Linux kernel compilation and installation, TCP/IP, PPP, Routing, IPv4.
-Experience in one or more of these areas: RADIUS, MySQL, ADSL technologies (Telstra L2 or L3), IPTables, PPPoE, tunnelling (**L2TP**, IPSec, PPTP, VPNs), Proxyarp, Linux Virtual Server.

Project will consist of setting up an ADSL service (both server and testing a sample client connection before deployment).
Completion of the project can be made with flexible hours arrangement(after hours/weekend).
