[Aslug] $SOCKS-NS Error?

Matt,

Open a terminal and try to ping the DNS servers.  Are you running a firewall? 
 You may find it's stopping all outside traffic from coming across your 
internal network (this is often the default if you selected a Medium or High 
security installation).  Is pppd running?  A dialup connection consists of 
two stages - the dialup to your ISP and then ppp invokation.
