=== 2011 Linux Australia Council Election ===

Nominations for the 2011 Linux Australia Council have opened. All current members may nominate another member or themselves for all positions. Candidates require two nominations for any position before they can accept that nomination. If you want to stand in the election or know someone who wants to stand, please nominate!

You can view details and nominate at: https://www.linux.org.au/membership/ 

The available positions are:

 - President (1)
 - Vice President (1)
 - Secretary (1)
 - Treasurer (1)
 - Ordinary council member (3)

The time-line for the election is as follows:

Nominations open:  13 December 2010 00:00 EST.
Nominations close: 12 January 2011 00:00 EST.
Voting opens:      12 January 2011 00:00 EST.
Voting closes:     26 January 2011 00:00 EST.
Results will be announced at the Linux Australia AGM on January 26th.


=== Linux Australia Annual General Meeting ===

The Linux Australia Annual General Meeting will be held in room Z411 at 5:30pm local time on Wednesday 26th January 2011 at linux.conf.au in Brisbane.

Position reports for the President, Treasurer and Secretary, as well as the results for the 2011 Council Election will be presented at the Annual General meeting, with members having the ability to pose questions to the council.

A detailed agenda will be made available closer to the actual AGM.

As you have all undoubtedly already registered for linux.conf.au, you will be excited to know there is only a little over a month to go before it all comes together in Brisbane. Whilst the main conference programme was created months ago, some mini-confs are still looking for speakers. Please get in touch with a mini-conf organiser if you would like to speak at one.

If you’re in to Drupal, don’t miss the chance to meet and mix with the best and brightest from the Australian and New Zealand Drupal community and project founder Dries Buytaert. Drupal Down Under will run the weekend prior to LCA, also in Brisbane. The call for proposals is now open at http://drupaldownunder.org/  (Note: you must sign up and login before you can submit a proposal)
