Hello,
GRANNT (Grass Roots Action Network Northern Tasmania) has been given the
opportunity to be an “Artist in Residence” at a Launceston exhibition space
from 3 - 15 June 2025. GRANNT hopes to explore the idea of “third spaces”
and create a shared, welcoming place outside of home or work. This will
include inviting other organisations to use the space for workshops, talks,
or just to meet – to demonstrate the need and utility of these spaces, and
advocate for more in our commuinty. We believe that strong communities are
built together, and that many hands make light work.
We are reaching out because we believe that is the kind of group we would
like to see be represented as part of this residency. Would there be
interest from Tas Linux User Group (or if you can recommend a suitable
person or org) in presenting a short session on Linux and the FOSS model.
Our intent in such a session would be to give attendees the initial
information and confidence to hopefully begin transitioning away from their
current software and/or OS ecosystems.
I look forward to hearing from you,
Anders
