From contact at pycon.org.au Mon Jun 29 13:09:11 2026 From: contact at pycon.org.au (Jack Skinner (PyCon AU)) Date: Mon, 29 Jun 2026 03:09:11 +0000 Subject: [PyCon AU announce] New ticket types, workshops, hotel discounts and more! Message-ID: Hello everyone! There?s been a string of announcements over the past month. This email is a quick summary, and a timely reminder to register before the financial year ends! Several new ticket types are now available! That's right! If you?ve been holding out for a one day ticket, or are eligible for a student ticket then you can now register for PyCon AU 2026. We?ve also released a NEW ticket type for 2026 - the ?Educator? ticket - at a subsidised price specifically for school teachers. Learn more about each ticket type, or read the announcement news post for more details. Remember: if you?re attending PyCon AU ?to maintain or increase the knowledge, capabilities or skills you need? in the workplace, a conference ticket (and travel) might be relevant to your tax return. (We can?t offer you tax advice of course, but now?s a good time to think about it.) Speaking of using Python at work - if you?re bringing the team we?ve got a group order form to support your workplace?s procurement processes. Drop us a line at contact at pycon.org.au for details. Alternatively, grab 5 or more professional tickets online and we?ll automatically apply a 5% discount. Schedule now (mostly) published! The full conference schedule including specialist tracks, main conference, and sprints is now on the conference website! Check out the schedule for the full line up. If you?re familiar with PyCon AU from previous years, the program has changed slightly, so take note - specialist tracks now run on each day of scheduled talks. Wednesday (not yet published) is hands on workshops - watch this space? soon! Thursday (schedule): features the Data & AI and Platform Engineering tracks Friday (schedule): is home to the Cybersecurity and Education tracks Saturday (schedule): welcomes two new tracks: Research Software Engineering and DevRel Each day of talks there are sessions from the main conference, along with two specialist tracks, and you can choose freely what to attend at any given time. Sunday (schedule) is home to the development sprints - a great chance to pair, collaborate and contribute to open source. First time attendees are VERY welcome, and we?ll have more details on featured?sprints projects? soon. Sunday tickets are included for Contributor tickets, and available as an add-on at registration for all other ticket types. Workshops coming soon We?ll be announcing details of workshops in early July. Workshops will be free to attend, but you must register separately. Don?t delay though - if you?ve registered already you can add workshops to your ticket once they?re published. Workshops are roughly 2-3 hour hands on training sessions. They?ll be running on Wednesday 26 August - so make travel plans accordingly. Hotel and train discounts! The Attendee Guide has updated details including transport recommendations, discounted Airtrain tickets and accommodation discounts at nearby hotels. Make your travel plans to Brisbane today! Volunteer at PyCon AU 2026 We recently opened our call for volunteers to help us run PyCon AU 2026. Learn more on our updated volunteer page, and submit your volunteer application before 7 July. Volunteers help the conference run smoothly, with tasks like recording talks, handing out lanyards, and supporting our speakers with introductions and time cards. No experience necessary, just a can-do attitude and a willingness to learn new skills. We can?t wait to see everyone in August for PyCon AU 2026! >From your friendly PyCon AU 2026 organising team :) PyCon AU 2026 - Brisbane 26-30 August 2026 -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
