Several:

 * W3C recommends OBJECT over IFRAME

 * OBJECT is more flexible (e.g. the STANDBY attribute)

 * It works everywhere else, I only just got around to testing it
   on MSIE

IFRAME does what I expect, OBJECT does not - but *only* on MSIE. 
Therefore, *sigh*, I have to use IFRAME.
