[LCP] Printing long strings in GDB

Hi:

   How do I print long string in GDB? GDB only displays a
portion of the string. I tried the "set height" and the
"set width" command, but it doesn't work. There is a
workaround such as executing "print long_string + <numeric
offest>".  Is there a better way?
