I have read a few mailing lists myself and I'm well aware of the
standards for questions. I did not say RTFM; I asked for some
information about what you'd done so far. You (and others who
also can't read) took that as RTFM. It wasn't.

That's so unlikely that it's laughable. But feel free to kid
yourself.

You could be right; but lots of people do use it to good effect,
so I suspect you're probably wrong.

Of course I have not tried that. I don't use C++ and don't
expect ever to descend into that tarpit. I'm on this list
because it's about C programming.
One final note: if you reply in private to me when the message
that you're replying to carried a header directing replies to
the list, then don't be surprised if my response goes to the
list. I'm not interested in off-list justification and have no
intention of playing along with it.
As I suggested in a previous message, you need to learn from
that article about asking questions.
Anyway, I've listened to enough whining on this list now. There
are almost no subscribers who want to learn about C programming;
but there are lots who seem to think that their five minutes of
Net experience equips them to give me lessons in etiquette. So
I'm going to unsubscribe and leave you all to play on your own.
You won't learn much, but that's apparently not on your agenda.
And, just to forestall anybody who is tempted, I won't bother to
read or respond to any abuse that comes my way.
Cheers, Greg
