[LCP]Code review request (was: Small question about a program...)

Well, it depends what you want.  Does the program behave as you expected?
If so, why do you want input?
If not, what does it do that you didn't expect?


Please use accurate subject lines.  This is not a small question about a 
program, it is a request for a code review.  Fortunately for me, I 
skipped over the code to find the question, but others might start 
reading at line 1 and get somewhat irritated by the lack of a question 
at the end.
