[LCP]Serial Port Writing

hello All,
 I am  writing a program which can communicate on serial port.
 One device is connected to serial Port.I am able to read the data from
serial port ( After looking code Example in Serial-Programming-HOWTO),but
i am not able to  write data to serial port.
 What setting i have to do in termios structure to write on serial
port.If  possible please send me a code example and resources  from where
i can learn serial port programming guidelines.
