That is not the case.

The original mailing lists are still running.

The new service is on different addresses and is not a mailing list just a
bulk email system for sending out announcements.

The new service is run by different people who have not communicated with the
members of the original lists.

The people who chose to do this have not signed their names to their work and
are just blaming "Electron Workshop". They seem to want to use the Electron
Workshop volunteers as a human shield.

I am mystified as to why so many people keep imagining things to keep this
discussion going when the facts are really clear. A new email service was
created with addresses harvested from existing lists and many members of those
lists object strongly to it.

Is debating every hypothetical way that the Electron Workshop lists might not
be bad helping Electron Workshop or anyone else?

To the Linux Australia Council:

Please request that Electron Workshop delete all addresses that they took from
the lists.luv.asn.au server.
