We've just now come to an arrangement with the uni accommodation, but
it's for each individual to book (no EO group booking) and it's not yet
announced on the website. Give UC accom a buzz, tell them you're there
for the Everything Open conference, and find out the pricing. I don't
have it in my head right now. Whether that works out better, I dunno.

It is paid, but of course it's not term time. We haven't got info on
something such as a day rate yet, again you could give them a buzz and
figure it out quickly. Let me know if you do, that helps, there are just
a lot of these little details.

No Miniconfs, the conf starts on the 21st and from then is when we have
the venue open.
There may be something at the end of the 23rd afternoon, but no official
scheduled evening events.
What people organise themselves, I'm all for it.
BoFs are for people to organise, I'm hopeful we'll get an easy wiki
sorted (perhaps you can assist with that?) and while they can be on-site
on the 21st, 22nd is Penguin Dinner, and before/after you'd have to find
another venue. One (1/2h to 1h) BoF slot between the main program and
the dinner might work, as it'll be very nearby; but that's presuming
that people won't need to go change or do something else in between.
Hope that helps! If you are able to help with for instance the conf
wiki, that could greatly simply this stuff. Then we can give or put in
the scheduled timings once we have them absolutely certain, allowing you
and others to do BoFs and things like that. Also, meeting up on the
night before and doing little (BoF?) catchups for dinner can be great.
Again a wiki can assist with that.
Regards,
Arjen.
