I'm interested in this project as well.

I'm also interested in what services we can provide to members using this
new system. I think the basic things we have - people becoming members,
members voting in elections and so on - can be updated but won't
fundamentally change. Are there things that we can do with an updated
memberdb interface that will further improve what Linux Australia can offer
to members or vice versa? Not just "people at conferences becoming LA
members through a secondary interface", but maybe handling LUG membership
(for LUGs who want that)? Registering for jobs or posting job ads?

This may be better discussed in person - and I'm currently in Brisbane. If
the Neill / Mikal collective in Canberra can be persuaded to hold off until
mid February when I return... :-)

Seconded!

Have fun,
