Passports, but not visas.

http://glossary.immigration.govt.nz/VisaFreeCountries.htm

"People from certain countries do not need to apply for a visa before
travelling to New Zealand. On arrival in New Zealand, they will be asked
to provide:

* travel tickets or evidence of onward travel arrangements, and
* evidence of funds for maintenance

If a person is visiting New Zealand for three months or less and is from
a visa-waiver country (see list below), this person will not need to
apply for a visitor visa before arriving in New Zealand as long as the
purpose of the visit is for a lawful purpose.

A person is deemed to apply for a visitor visa by completing the
required “New Zealand Passenger Arrival Card” and if granted entry
permission, will also be granted a visitor visa."

"If you are travelling to New Zealand on an Australian passport, there
is no requirement that it be valid for any set period of time after you
arrive or depart the country. However, if you are visiting, you should
avoid the potential for any complications and ensure that your
Australian passport will not need renewal during your stay in New Zealand."

"Citizens and permanent residents of Australia (who do not have certain
criminal convictions) may visit, live and work in New Zealand
indefinitely. Upon arrival, Australian citizens are exempted from the
requirement to hold a permit and Australian permanent residents are
granted a residence permit."
