Unless there is a clearer explanation, I'd agree 
with you, Greg.

Though I understand why people say 'Linux' (and do 
so myself at times) AND I've heard RMS explain his 
GNU and Linux  or GNU slash Linux arguments, I try 
to use GNU Linux myself as the English language 
allows you to (eg. Mercedes Benz, Rolls Royce, 
Aston Martin don't appear to have confused too 
many people :))

I think we should use GNU/Linux or something 
similar in the core values statement for clarity 
and fairness.
