Hi all,

I thought some of you might be interested in an event I'm helping Senator
Kate Lundy run about the opportunities and issues around access to high
speed bandwidth in Australia.

If you want to participate you can do it in person, or over Twitter/identica
on the day (as all questions and feedback will be happening via
Twitter/identica). Also, if any of you have a short 10 minute talk you want
to give, check on the website comments to see whether your topic has already
been proposed, and if not, you can either present on the day (if you are in
Canberra), or pre-record and send it to me to be played on the day.

Anyway, we hope to do this sort of event on topical issues regularly, and
the outcomes will be put together into a briefing paper that we will both
publish and put to appropriate channels in the government. Our idea is to
hopefully make participating in government directions and policy more easily
accessible.

Hope to see some of you there (online or in person). We'd really appreciate
it if people could forward this around to anyone they think might be
interested. We'll likely start a list for announcements soon, but we'll post
all events to the tag publicsphere, so add it to your rss readers :)

Cheers,
Pia
