Project Name: StixCampNewstead

Aim of Project:

A free mini-conference come brainstorming weekend that's open to all.
The event is free, but requires all attendees to be participants. The
aim is for people to share and learn in an open environment, for it to
be an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from
participants.

Person Responsible for Request: Ben Balbo

Linux Australia kindly supported the first BarCampMelbourne in 2007 to
the amount of $500. StixCampNewstead is the next BarCampMelbourne under
a different name (it's being held in the sticks!).

Request: We are asking sponsors for whatever they think is affordable
and appropriate, in the hope that lots of smaller donations will be
easier to secure than a few larger ones. Previous years saw sponsors
donating $500 or $600.

Anticipated total costs:

With most aspects provided in kind, we're just looking to cover food and
drinks costs. At an estimated $50 per head and capacity for 60 people,
we'll need about $3,000.

Return on investment:

Sponsors will have their logo on the http://vic.au.stixcamp.org/ web
site and the http://barcampmelbourne.org/ web site, linked to a URL of
their choosing. These logos will be on the main page until the next
BarCampMelbourne or Victorian StixCamp are announced, at which time they
will be available in archives within those two sites.

Sponsors will also receive verbal thanks and recognition during the
opening and closing speeches, and in any communication with reporters.
Press releases will also name all confirmed sponsors at the time of release.

Sponsors are welcome to advertise their support in any way they like,
and we will assist them wherever possible. They can also offer
schwag/literature/etc for dissemination and signage for display at the
event.

Thanks!
Ben
