The ACS would like to invite you to attend: 
THE GREAT DEBATE  
Microsoft & Commercial Software VS Linux & the Open Source World 

Where do you stand on this topic?
Come and hear arguments for and against the software and make up your own 
mind. 

The Debaters will be:
Richard White, CEO and founder of Cargowise edi Pty Ltd. Richard's skills 
combine a unique 17 year understanding of the international trade and 
logistics industry combined with over 25 years in both software 
development and business management.
John-Paul Syriatowicz, Managing Director, co-founder and co-owner of 
Squiz.net, Australia’s largest content management system vendor. 
Squiz are recognised as industry leaders in relation to open source 
software. They are regularly invited to participate in industry forums and 
to consult with parties considering the use of open source software. 

The Debate will be Moderated by:
Associate Professor David Wilson, Associate Dean (Education) within the 
Faculty of Information Technology at the University of Technology, Sydney. 
David is President of the Australian Association of Information Systems 
(AAIS) and secretary to the Australian Council of Professors and Heads of 
Information Systems (ACPHIS). He was previously Editor of the Australian 
Computer Journal for five years and Chairman of the Software Quality 
Association (NSW).
