One thing that I find interesting is Microsoft is
already using 2 xiph codecs on the xbox.

Many games such as halo (you may not have heard of it)
use vorbis for music.

Speex is used as the codec for voice communication for
xbox live.

I would not be surprised if many of the other
companies also distribute products containing an open
codec.
